Point Town exchange options: fees and timing for banks, gift cards and points

Compare points needed with what you actually receive

One Point Town point is worth about ¥1. But not every destination pays out the same amount. Check the fee (5%, 8%, 10%, 50 points and so on), the minimum for each destination and the type of destination together.

The tables below reflect the Point Town exchange page checked on 6 November 2026. “Yield” is a rough figure calculated from the displayed minimum (amount received ÷ points needed). Campaigns and availability change.

Which destination for which purpose

GMO Aozora Net Bank (100 pt, real time) and Rakuten Bank (100 pt, 2–4 business days) are candidates if you want to cash out small amounts. Japan Post Bank, MUFG, Mizuho, SMBC, Resona and AEON charge 50 points, so you need 550 points to receive ¥500.

Destinations where timing depends on rank

For Amazon Gift Card, Apple Gift Card, WebMoney, Edy Gift ID, nanaco Gift, Google Play gift code, Ponta Point code and d POINT, the completion date depends on your membership rank.

Bank and cash (table)

Banks with a 50-point fee have a minimum of 550 points (¥500 plus the 50-point fee), a yield of about 90.9% (500 ÷ 550). Banks with no fee (GMO Aozora Net, Rakuten, PayPay, docomo SMTB Net) yield 100%. Enter an account in your own name. These are destinations for Japanese bank accounts; this guide does not establish overseas transfers.

E-money and gift cards

Most yield 100%, but PayPay Money Lite, nanaco Gift and Ponta Point code carry a 5% fee (500 pt → 475). Ponta Points also have a separate route under other points (110 pt → 100 points, 10% fee). The PlayStation Store ticket starts at 1,100 points.

Other points

Free and near-equivalent destinations include GMO Points, PeX points, Recruit Points, nanaco Points and d POINT. V POINT (108 pt → 100, 8% fee) and Ponta Points (110 pt → 100, 10% fee) yield less. Geso Coin (the page showed a “double coins when exchanging from a smartphone” badge) and Challenge Coin are exchanged into coins, not points. At PeX, 10 P = ¥1, and you can exchange onward to banks, e-money and gift cards.

Miles, donations, investing and exchanges into Point Town

Miles use a month-end cut-off and are credited the next month. You need 3.5 pt per ANA mile and 2.5 pt per JAL mile.

From other services into Point Town points

If an exchange fails or does not arrive

• Compare the minimum and your current balance, and the conditions of the destination you chose.
• If you get a verification error, check your registered details and the official instructions for receiving and sending email.
• Check your exchange history and the scheduled dates by rank and destination.
• Check whether a required claim step remains on the gift screen or at the external destination.

“Application accepted”, “gift code obtained” and “reflected in the external balance” are different states. When going through PeX, check the next exchange separately. If the schedule has passed, note the date and time, destination, points and any error, and contact official support. Check expiry of points and coins

The official FAQ states 365 days from the last time you earned points or coins, and 180 days for app members. Appearing in expected earnings, or changes caused by exchanging, do not extend the period.
