Rakuten points in Japan: earn Rakuten Points plus points-site rewards

What does “double points” (Wポイント) mean?

Rakuten Ichiba is the shopping marketplace. A points website such as Moppy or Point Income is a separate service that introduces you to the shop. When you start from its Rakuten offer and complete an eligible purchase, you can earn rewards from both services.

“Double points” means two reward systems. It does not mean your Rakuten Points or reward percentage automatically doubles. The points-site reward is credited to that website’s account, not directly to your Rakuten Points balance.

How to earn both rewards

1. Choose one points website and register if needed.

   Rakuten membership and points-site membership are separate. Check membership and redemption requirements before registering.

2. Open its Rakuten Ichiba offer.

   Use the comparison table below. Read the current rate, eligible products, cart and app rules, and expected approval time. Save a record of the conditions.

3. Click the official shopping button before buying.

   Continue to Rakuten and complete the purchase under that offer’s rules. Avoid switching to another points website or advertising link during the purchase.

4. Check both transaction histories.

   Keep your order number, date and amount. Check Rakuten’s point history and the points website’s ledger separately. Pending rewards are not yet approved.

Check the cart, app and campaign conditions

Rules differ by website. For example, Moppy’s Rakuten offer specifies adding items to the cart within 24 hours after clicking through, paying within 89 days, and clicking through again for another purchase after checkout. Do not apply these timings to every website.

Check whether app purchases, the selected store or product, coupons, points payments and shipping are eligible. Rakuten campaigns and membership benefits have their own entry requirements and limits; they are separate from the points-site rate.

Some offers do not accept missing-points investigations. Moppy’s Rakuten offer states that point inquiries are not accepted. Check the individual offer before purchase instead of assuming a general guarantee applies.

Do I need to change where I shop?

You still buy from Rakuten Ichiba. The extra step is visiting it through one eligible points-site offer before shopping.

Are the extra points Rakuten Points?

Usually they are that points website’s own rewards. Check its redemption options, minimums, fees and point value.

Can I use several points websites for one order?

Choose one. Do not assume a single purchase earns rewards from several points websites.

Where do I ask about missing points?

First identify which balance is missing. For points-site rewards, follow that website’s offer-specific support rules; do not ask the Rakuten shop to investigate another service’s points.
